Do you have a business? Have you seen this “ISO Certified” thing when browsing on your prospect suppliers?

Months ago, my friend and I planned to start a business. We start by laying out plans and strategies on how we should kick this one off. As we were moving on, we got stock in looking for the best supplier for our needs. And there comes this ISO Certified thing.

I’m wondering why companies banner this ISO after their brand name. At first I thought this means nothing but eventually, upon researching I saw that ISO Certification is that much important and beneficial.

Yes you heard it right, ISO certification is beneficial not just to the company’s reputation but for us consumers as well. So what are the benefits am I talking about?
Before listing them, let’s define ISO first. ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization. They develop and publish International Standards. Conformity on these standards assures consumers that the products are safe, efficient and good for mother earth. Cool right?

Benefits

For Food Business
  • Cost savings - ISO helps optimize the operation to further improve the bottom line.
  • Customer Satisfaction – ISO helps improve quality, customer satisfaction and increase of sales
  • Access to new markets – ISO helps prevent trade barriers and open up international markets
  • Environmental Benefits – ISO help reduce the negative impacts on the environment

For Society
Consumers definitely
have confidence about the products and services which conforms to ISO Standards. These products and services are safe, reliable and of good high quality.
ISO also contributes to preserve the environment and the health of humans by setting standards on air, water and soil quality, as well as for emissions of gases and radiation and environmental aspects of products and services.

These are just some of the benefits I saw during my research. An ISO certified company makes us sure that the products and services they provide are safe, efficient and good for everyone. As business owners, we don’t want to have issues on the products we are selling and these issues may start from our raw materials. Having safe and good quality raw materials will lead us to high quality products. And for me high quality raw materials only came from an ISO certified company.

Is your supplier an ISO Certified? Think very well.
